Sphynx

Improving the health of sphynx in Australia is our top priority. In February 2021 all our sphynx DNA was tested in America for the newly discovered sphynx hcm gene and in just over a year we have been able to eradicate the gene completely from our cattery. This gene is responsible for 60 percent of hcm and our cattery now will have no kittens born with this defective hcm gene which is a huge breakthrough for the lifespan of sphynx in Australia. Our Cattery is in our home and is of the highest quality. All our sphynx are respiratory PCR swabbed clear for flus/virus's, blood tested clear of feline aids and leukaemia, DNA tested clear with orivet DNA testing and HCM tested by a cardiologist annually (last done late dec 2021). Each of our cats have their own folder with their results/pedagree and available for viewing via appointment only in our cattery. We provide all our kittens with a contract from our solicitor stating a replacement kitten if HCM occurs within three yrs and includes many other guarantees. Once deposit is paid contract with deposit details are sent along with care instructions for a sphynx kitten to your postal address. Contract to be brought back on kitten pickup for completion. Our kittens are desexed, microchipped, wormed 3 times, vaccinated, vet checked twice by two different vets, pedagree papered into your name and are ready to leave for their new home at 12 weeks old. Kittens raised on human grade 2 star Aldi beef mince and royal canin kitten moose/buscuits. Personalised take home kitten packs can be provided at wholesale price with your kitten upon request on kitten pickup. Once you purchase a sphynx from Furrvelvet we offer lifetime support such as advice or even if rejoining your baby is needed due to unforeseen circumstances. Please see our website to join the waitlist and your spot is only able to be secured once deposit of $500 is paid. Call any time for further information. We also welcome visitors. Our cattery design was done with my vets assistance to ensure the long term health and happiness of my sphynx. All sphynx have there own equipment to prevent cross contamination. My cattery has three outdoor play areas, plenty of jumping shelves, temperature control gas heating, temperature control cooling, sky lights, polished concrete flooring, social play area, kitten pens etc. They are also loved by and raised with my three children, who play with all my cat before and after school. I do have a waiting list which usually sits at 3-10 months long.

Bengal

At Alphajag Bengals, we take pride in our small cattery breeding program. Located in the Shoalhaven region, we were introduced to bengal cats and began breeding them in 2011 using our experience with other breeds. We have totally fallen in love with these cats—not surprising, as they are such characters! The bengal cat is a hybrid between a domestic queen and Asian Leopard cat. They resemble their wild ancestors, but their character is one of a domesticated cat. Personally, we find them very dog-like in nature. We focus on improving the breed, specifically coat patterns and temperment. We also love the different range of colours bengals carry in their genetic make, as we discovered by DNA testing. We are able to create the charcoal colour, just one of our exciting discoveries. Our kittens are well-raised with children, dogs, and lots of noise, so they are not shy. We socialise them well while maintaining their wild ancestors’ looks and domesticated personalities. We aim for that great, loving pet that can rule your heart and soul. Most imporantly, we focus on raising healthy and well-socialised bengals!

We breed for health, happiness, temperament and type NOT QUANTITY. Therefore we only have 2 or 3 litters a year and only ever have one litter on the ground at any one time, allowing us to devote 100% of our time to that litter and we NEVER do back to back mating's with the same girl, all our girls get at least 10 to 12 months or more break between litters. All our kittens are born and raised in the home, with at least one person home with them of the time, they are also raised around our 3 dogs. Please remember any cat/kitten should be as much a family member for life as a Mother, Father, Son, daughter etc. and it is for this reason that we do not sell any of our cats or kittens to anyone unless we feel 100% confident that this is going to be a lifetime commitment. We also understand that on the odd occasion life does not always go the way we have planned so we are more than happy to assist in any way we can with any genuine cases.

If you are interested in knowing more about the Bengal cat or considering purchasing a companion please contact us by txt or phone & we will reply. If you like us on our FACEEBOOK page then you will see what news there is at the cattery. We are currently working with modern recently imported bloodlines from Lithuania, USA & some home grown Aussie lines. Health & Temperament are paramount. We only run a small cattery to maintain sanitary living conditions & quality life of our breeding cats. All our cats are current with vaccinations, intestinal worming & flea treatment. We usually only have one litter on the ground at once so our kittens get lots of handling & socializing in a family house hold environment. We occasionally attend Cat Shows to meet other breeders, have our cats evaluated by judges & see what other breeders are producing. In pattern we aim for large resetting, no ticking (banding on the hair shafts), clear distinctive contrast. Get in touch if we can be of any further assistance.

Bengal

The Bengal cat is an athletic, agile and graceful cat with a strong, muscular body. The Bengal cat looks like a wild cat on the prowl and was originally bred by crossing an Asian Leopard Cat and a domestic short hair cat. Bengals take their name from the Asian leopard cat's scientific name, Felis bengalensis. Bengals today, are one and the same with domestic cats, with all Bengals purchased in Australia at least five generations removed from any ancestors with wild bloodlines. A Bengal will vary in size depending on gender and whether it is desexed. Their weight can range from 3.5kg up to 8kg or more, and they have an average lifespan of 12 to 16 years. Bengal cats are fun to live with and are active and highly intelligent cats. They can be talkative and like to play games and learn tricks. They also like playing with water and usually get along well with other cats, dogs and horses. Climbing is one of their strengths and a tall cat tree is a must. If all of this sounds very busy, on the other hand, most Bengals also like a cuddle and a scratch, will sit on your lap and like to share your bed.
